This is St James girls c1930, I haven't got a lot of info about the photo only that the girl in the middle at the front is Edna Thomas.
She is holding a sign I can't quite make out, but looks like 'Please support - - - - Hospital ----'.
Must have been springtime as they are all holding daffodils.

Thanks EWW, I will give it a try, just haveto locate the photo now. You know when you put something in safe place, it's so blinking safe, you can't find it again! So you had a crush on Betty eh, poor lad, did you by any chance live opposite Gaywood park school? So glad I found this site, it's been brilliant looking at all the posts, All saints School, where my mum went, St James, Gaywood Park and of course all the old places. When my boys were small (I still had relatives in Lynn) we used to bring them up each year to go to the Mart. We stayed atthe Globe Hotel, is that still there?

Oh what a hoot! You were discussed non stop at one time . I used to live in De Grey Road, well under your radar of course, being one one of the girls nobody bothered with, boo hoo. I tell you I have a memory like an elephant and they say elephants never forget . Well well. Strangely I thought I was communicating with another 'girl' , great to know you are still around.

This is the pic of Miss Harris class, I guess about 1952/3,I am not on this one but have the names of quite a few of the children. Miss Oliver is in the middle at the back and I would love to know who the ' Marylyn Monroe ' is on the end! Michael Lane on front row you might recognise. T

Stv James School, 1881

Postby Vectensian » 29 Nov 2018, 01:05

I have some old copy books from St James School that were my Grandfather's when he attended school in Kings Lynn in 1881. Would anyone be interested in seeing the photographs as I have scanned the covers and some of the pages. I have attached one as an example.

Hi Vectensian,it's always good to see old photos, someone may even have relatives who might recognise one of their ancestors. Welcome to the forum, by the way. You'll find all sorts of info on here.
